Domain Architect - Application & Integrations
Ready to make a splash in your career? WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Domain Architect - Application & Integration (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Digital Partnerships & Data team.
In this newly created role, you will play a pivotal part in driving the future of WaterNSW’s application and integration landscape. You will provide strategic and technical leadership to ensure platforms are aligned to business goals, ensuring they are secure, scalable, and fit for long-term transformation. You’ll define and govern the target-state architecture, leading application rationalisation, platform alignment, and integration strategy, including APIs and interoperability. By reducing duplication and improving consistency, you’ll help modernise the technology environment and ensure solutions are resilient, maintainable and aligned to business needs.

What you’ll do:
- Define, Govern, and Evolve the Application & Integration Architecture: Drive architectural simplification, application rationalisation, and technology standardisation across the enterprise to optimise application and integration architecture while reducing complexity and cost.
- Align Technology with Business Strategy: Partner with business stakeholders to understand strategic objectives and influence strategic planning processes to ensure technology investment decisions align with long-term enterprise capability goals, regulatory requirements and operational priorities and provide domain specific technology roadmaps that enable business outcomes.
- Integration Architecture Leadership: Provide architectural oversight on enterprise platforms and define and enforce integration strategies, standards, and patterns to ensure seamless data and process flow across enterprise and partner ecosystems including external stakeholders.
- Application Portfolio Roadmaps and Innovation: Lead enterprise-wide initiatives to modernise legacy applications, consolidate platforms, and introduce composable and cloud-based solutions. Champion innovation that enhances business performance, reliability, or customer experience.
- Delivery & Assurance: Provide end-to-end architectural guidance on projects, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards, integration requirements, and governance obligations, and represent the architecture function in investment governance and design authority forums.
What we are looking for:
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience in enterprise and solution architecture, with a strong focus on application and integration domains and knowledge of enterprise application architecture principles, frameworks, and methodologies. and software lifecycle management.
- Strong knowledge of integration patterns, APIs, event-driven architecture, middleware, message queues, system interoperability, and secure data exchange between enterprise platforms.

- Ability to set standards and patterns, review solution designs, guide project teams, influence stakeholders, manage exceptions, and ensure applications and integrations align with enterprise architecture, security, data and operational requirements.
