Instrumentation & Controls Electrician

This role will play a critical role in supporting and maintaining essential water infrastructure that communities, industries and the environment rely on every day. In this hands-on position, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of complex electrical, automation and communication systems across a diverse network of remote sites

What you’ll do:
• Configure, maintain and continuously improve field-based instrumentation, automation and control systems, including SCADA, telemetry, communications networks, power systems and site control devices.
• Proactively identify, diagnose and rectify electrical and automation system issues to minimise downtime and maintain system availability.
• Deliver specialist advice and site-based knowledge to support planning, design, testing, implementation and security of automation and communications systems.
• Plan, procure and coordinate instrumentation and control works, ensuring contractors deliver high-quality outcomes safely and efficiently.
• Procure goods and services in line with policies and financial approvals, ensuring efficient use of resources across projects and maintenance activities.
• Audit, inspect and approve electrical works to ensure compliance with Australian Standards, regulatory requirements and organisational guidelines.
What we are looking for:
• Qualified Electrical Supervisor Certificate
• Proven capability working across instrumentation, control systems and associated electrical/mechanical equipment
• Demonstrated ability to fault find and resolve issues end-to-end, from SCADA servers through to site instrumentation
• Hands-on expertise with PLC programming and field controllers, ideally within complex industrial environments
• Proven experience delivering field-based operations and maintenance activities
• Highly self-sufficient and comfortable working independently in remote and isolated locations
• Willingness to participate in an on-call 24/7 roster, providing support remotely or on-site when required
