Position Purpose

 

Ready to make a splash in your career? WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Regional Operations Sydney team.  

 

In this role, you will play a pivotal role in keeping critical water infrastructure operating safely, efficiently and reliably across the region. As the Maintenance Planner, you will lead the planning, coordination and optimisation of maintenance activities to ensure WaterNSW assets remain compliant, available and performing at their best. Working closely with operational teams and stakeholders, you'll develop strategic maintenance schedules, outage plans and resource forecasts that minimise risk, maximise asset reliability and deliver value for customers.

What you’ll do:

 

  • Develop a schedule of planned works within a region of WaterNSW to ensure the maintenance program is delivered to keep assets compliant, meets the need of customers and reduce extraordinary financial costs.
  • Develop a plan of resources to support the execution of the maintenance program in an efficient and effective manner. Develop a regional outage plan and ensure other maintenance projects are planned and coordinated in line with the maintenance schedule.
  • Develop work packs for maintenance activities with approved documentation including outage plans, procedures, safe systems of work documentation and materials. Collaborate with internal and external customers and stakeholders to ensure availability of the assets and resources in order to deliver the maintenance work in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensure data is analysed and Key Performance Indicators are reviewed utilising the appropriate analysis techniques, for the continuous improvement in the delivery of the maintenance plan.
  • Assist Team Leaders with the planning and coordination of ‘opportunity’ maintenance and unplanned maintenance activities including breakdowns as required.

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Relevant trade qualifications, tertiary or professional qualifications.
  • Experience in the development of outage plans, scheduling of maintenance jobs and resource management.
  • Experience with the use of computerised Maintenance Management Systems and competency in the use of Microsoft applications.
  • Experience with planning techniques and development of maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities and varying deadlines.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
  • Nice to Have: Understanding of contracts and contractual obligations, planning and reporting requirements in maintenance.
