Maintenance Officer - Trade - Fabricator / Welder

You will be joining a hands-on maintenance team supporting critical dam infrastructure across the iconic Fish River scheme. Based in Wallerawang, this role is ideal for an early-career Mechanical Trade professional looking to grow their skills in fabrication, welding, pipe repair, and mechanical maintenance while working across diverse operational assets.

What you’ll do:
• Carry out mechanical maintenance, fabrication and welding activities to ensure water infrastructure is operating safely and efficiently.
• Support the reliable supply of water by undertaking routine surveillance, monitoring and inspections of dams, pipelines and related assets.
• Assist with dam safety activities, including inspections across embankment and concrete/gated structures, ensuring compliance with operational standards.
• Undertake water quality sampling and support on-site water delivery operations across storage and distribution systems.
• Identify improvement opportunities through maintenance activities, providing insights to enhance asset performance and reliability.
• Capture and maintain accurate data in maintenance management systems to support effective planning and reporting.
What we are looking for:
• A qualified tradesperson in a relevant discipline (Mechanical preferred), including those early in their career or recently qualified, looking to build hands-on experience.
• A strong interest in developing your skills in mechanical maintenance, fabrication and welding within a real-world infrastructure environment.
• A willingness and capability to learn, with an interest in developing skills across water infrastructure, monitoring and operations.
• A proactive mindset with the ability to identify improvements and contribute to efficient maintenance outcomes.
• Experience within water, utilities or council environments will be highly regarded.
