Ready to make a splash in your career? WaterNSW is seeking an experienced Project Engineer - Civil (Full-Time, Permanent) to join our Built Infrastructure's Greater Sydney Project Delivery team.

 

 

As a Project Engineer, you will be driving the technical delivery of projects, developing innovative, whole-of-life engineering solutions from concept through to implementation. Working across a diverse project portfolio, you will partner with Project Managers to drive technical excellence, ensure compliance with WaterNSW standards, and deliver safe, sustainable, and impactful outcomes.

What you will do:

 

  • Technical Leadership & Solution Delivery: Lead and support the development and implementation of all technical solutions. Provide expert technical support, advice, and recommendations to the Project Manager to minimise risk and ensure project objectives are met.
  • Design & Options Management: Manage and support the identification, assessment, and selection of solution options, including cost analysis and stakeholder consultation. Oversee the entire design process, interfacing with consultants and ensuring all engineering specifications and standards are met. Lead critical design and safety reviews and drive design optimisation.
  • Documentation, Quality & Scope Control: Develop and support clear and comprehensive specification documentation for tenders and respond to technical RFIs. Regularly monitor work (including factory validation) to ensure it complies with the agreed scope. Manage all requests for information, design or engineering changes.
  • Construction and Site Support: Regularly monitor work undertaken to ensure it complies with agreed scope and meets agreed requirements, including factory validation and construction hold points for quality assurance during construction. Provide general support to the team to ensure project outcomes are achieved.
  • Commissioning, Handover & Defect Management: Develop, support and implement all commissioning, testing, and handover plans, including operator training.

     

What we are looking for:

 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher tertiary institution in civil engineering, or demonstrated equivalent experience managing the engineering and design aspects of multiple multidisciplinary civil engineering asset-based infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working collaboratively and making decisions with stakeholders to review, analyse, negotiate and implement technical solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in determining appropriate solutions to technical challenges through evaluation of options.
  • Experience in development of technical specifications including interpretation of regulatory and other standards in developing those specifications.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards including WHS as they relate to the design and delivery of engineering aspects of range of capital projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating meetings/workshops to determine appropriate solutions to technical challenges through evaluation of options.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence.
